Thailand’s IPTV/OTT app: 3BB Giga TV
IPTV app service for Thailand's telecommunication company, 3BB
Date: Sep. 2019 - Jun. 2020
Role: UX designer - mobile
Brief: A leading internet provider in Thailand, Jasmine, has its IPTV service with the name, 3BB. Their service was quite outdated, so our goal was not to upgrade from what it was, but to upgrade it to an up-to-date standard version referring to how global competitors are doing.
Project Intro
Thailand's telecommunication company, 3BB, wanted to make their IPTV app service that streams live TV as well as VOD (such as Hulu or Netflix). The service was available on TV, tablet, and phone. This project was led by KT(Korea Telecom), and our company partnered with KT. All design was done by our team.
After the overall structure and flows are decided verbally in the meeting with the client, UX(wireframe, behavior specification) works for each device (TV, Tablet, and Phone) were done by 3 people. 1 person per device, respectively.
What I did
There was UX designer who was responsible for phone version of the wireframe and behavior specification. From the very beginning, team members and I visited the client’s office in BangKok, Thailand, and summarized what they wanted, made a wireframe, and got confirmed repeatedly for a few months. Once it’s reviewed and confirmed by the client, my wireframe is sent to the Dev team and the GUI team. After around a year, it got developed and launched in Thailand.
Competitor research / references
Based on previous works plus continuous research using other competitive applications such as Netflix, Youtube, Tving (Korean OTT), and others, I could suggest the best-fitting flow and wireframe for this project as client’s request.
Below are examples of the works. (they are not exactly same as final ver.)
